25/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – In light of the European elections and to inform citizens about food safety in the EU, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the competent national authorities of the Member States launched a campaign called EUandmyFood on Wednesday 24 April. This campaign, conducted in the 24 official languages of the EU with the support of the European Commission, includes short films, animations and a dedicated website ‘The EU and my food’ to explain to citizens the impact on daily life of the European food safety system created in 2002 by the EU's general food legislation, after the mad cow crisis, with EFSA as its pillar.
