04/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 4 March, the EU Council of Ministers adopted without debate the decision on the conclusion of the fisheries protocol between the EU and Côte d'Ivoire (see EUROPE 12192, 12053). The new six-year protocol (2018-2024) provides fishing opportunities for European Union vessels in Côte d'Ivoire waters, namely 28 freezer tuna seiners and 8 surface longliners. The annual financial contribution paid by the European Union amounts to EUR 682 000. (LC)
