21/01/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Union is taking a further step towards the exchange of electronic prescriptions in the health sector. According to a Commission statement issued on 21 January, Finland is now ready to make its electronic prescriptions available abroad while Estonia is ready to accept prescriptions from another European country. This exchange will take place on the new digital services infrastructure in the field of e-health, funded by the Connecting Europe Facility. The European Commission recalls that the objective of the 22 Member States participating voluntarily in the network is to achieve an exchange of prescriptions and medical records by 2021. (SPj)
