European Parliament suggests 30% increase in 2021-2027 budget for decommissioning Ignalina nuclear power plant

In Strasbourg, on Thursday, 17 January, the European Parliament voted in favour of increasing, by 30% to €780 million, the 2021-2027 budget for the decommissioning assistance programme at the Ignalina nuclear power station in Lithuania. The Council will have the final say on this text (the Parliament’s role is purely consultative).
