15/01/2019 (Agence Europe) – The Union européenne du transport routier (UETR – European Road Haulers Association) has said in a press release that it it is disappointed that members of the European Parliament’s Transport Committee were unable to reach an agreement on Thursday 10 January on the posting of lorry drivers and driving and resting time, meaning that a high degree of uncertainty remains regarding all social and market aspects of the first mobility package (see EUROPE 12169). “While the Council has been able to move forward (see EUROPE 12152), we are disappointed that after a year and a half, there is still a lack of willingness today to compromise and reach a solution in the European Parliament. This is another missed opportunity to establish a balanced, fair and competitive European transport market”, said UETR President, Julio Villaescusa. (LT)
