Member States maintain uncertainty on legal basis of Whistleblowers Directive

The position of Member States on the legal basis of the Directive to protect whistleblowers could not be clarified at a working group meeting in the Council on Thursday 10 January. 

The meeting was dedicated to the thorny issue of the multitude of articles constituting the legal basis of the Directive (as a reminder, there are 17 of them) and, in particular, to an opinion of the Council's legal services, which, on the one hand, proposes to divide the Directive into 5 legislative acts and,...
