The President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, encouraged the parliaments of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) and Greece to ratify the Prespa Agreement on Friday 11 January from Bucharest.
Formalized in June 2018, this agreement, which proposes to change the name of FYROM to the Republic of North Macedonia, should enable the country to move forward on the Euro-Atlantic path (see EUROPE 12038).
