Despite all efforts to reach an agreement, negotiators for the European Parliament and the EU Council failed on Tuesday 11 December to reconcile their positions on the November 2017 proposal for a regulation setting performance standards for the European fleet of new passenger cars and light trucks to reduce CO2 emissions after 2021 (see EUROPE 12133).
