Ana Carla Pereira, Head of Unit in the European Commission's Directorate-General for Social Affairs, explained the difficulties encountered by the institution in setting up social protection for self-employed workers in detail during a debate organised on Tuesday 11 December 2018 upon the presentation of the annual report on European social policy prepared by the European Social Observatory (OSE) and the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI).
