European Parliament votes in favour of doubling the ‘LIFE Environment and Climate’ budget in the post-2020 EU budget

To respond to the environmental and climate emergency, the European Parliament was more ambitious than the Commission on Tuesday 11 December in Strasbourg with regard to the budget for the LIFE Environment and Climate Action Programme in the EU's 2021-2027 multiannual financial framework. 

According to its rapporteur, the Dutchman Gerben-Jan Gerbrandy (ALDE), it voted by an overwhelming majority (580 votes in favour, 41 against, 45 abstentions) for doubling the financial resources...
