Correction concerning Member States' positions on post-2020 Erasmus programme

28/11/2018 (Agence Europe)Contrary to what we indicated in the EUROPE 12147 bulletin, France has not proposed bringing the Erasmus programme under the regime of delegated acts. On the contrary, it regretted that its request to abolish the use of delegated acts to update the programme's monitoring indicators had not been accepted. Nor does it disagree with Belgium or Greece, as these two countries, along with Cyprus, have even co-signed a declaration with it containing this message: "Evaluation indicators define critical parameters for implementing a programme by providing guidelines needed by those responsible for implementing them. Consequently, they are of a political nature and delegated acts are not the appropriate procedure for developing and choosing them", the declaration states. (SPj)
