15/11/2018 (Agence Europe) – The Member States' ambassadors have drafted the programme of the Telecom Council, which will take place on 4 December. The main item on the agenda is the Digital Europe programme, on which the Twenty-Eight will try to achieve a partial general approach. As reported in a previous issue (see EUROPE 12135), the Austrian Presidency will not seek agreement on the confidentiality of electronic communications: it will organise a policy debate and present a progress report. It will also submit a progress report on the European Centre for Industrial, Technological and Research Skills in Cybersecurity and the network of national coordination centres. Finally, the Ministers will approve, without debate (point A), the Interinstitutional Agreement with Parliament on the Electronic Communications Code and the Strengthening of the Body of Regulators (BEREC) (see EUROPE 12137).
