ALDE party expels PDeCAT of Catalonia

The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe party (ALDE) decided at an extraordinary Council Meeting of the party on Saturday 27 October to expel the Catalonian Democratic party PDeCAT, with immediate effect, the party has announced in a press release.

According to the press release, the Council took the decision by a “majority of two thirds of the votes cast” at a meeting attended by just over a third of the total party membership.
