18/10/2018 (Agence Europe) – The French finance minister, Bruno Le Maire, seems to be losing patience at the hesitations of certain member states over the proposal for a 3% tax on the gross earnings of digital platforms ('digital services tax' or DST). “All of the technical issues have been resolved”, he said, calling upon his colleagues to show political will. “Enough discussions, enough fine words, enough excuses. There are millions of European citizens who now expect the member states and the finance ministers to take their responsibilities […]. I want an agreement and above all I want a decision”, he told the French television channel Public Sénat, on Thursday 18 October (our translation). Le Maire will be at the European Parliament on Tuesday 23 October to discuss the subject with the MEPs in parliamentary committee. (MF)
