16/10/2018 (Agence Europe) – During the evening of Monday 15 October, the cabinet of Russia's prime minister, Dmitry Medvedev, announced that he would meet the president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, on the sidelines of the Europe-Asia meeting (ASEM) in Brussels on 18-19 October. He should also meet the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, and the Belgian prime minister, Charles Michel. According to his cabinet, during these meetings "the participants will address current issues of bilateral cooperation, in trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian areas, as well as the implementation of common projects". When asked on Tuesday 16 October about the Medvedev-Juncker meeting, the Commission spokesperson Margartis Schinas said he was unable to confirm whether such a meeting was taking place. (CG)
