New directors appointed to Budget, Human Resources department, and Joint Research Centre

19/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 19 September, the European Commission decided to appoint Belgium's Johan Ureel to the post of Director "Expenditure" in its Directorate-General for Budget (DG BUDG). Germany's Bernd Adolph will take the position of Director "Security" in the Directorate-General Human Resources and Security (DG HR). Finally, Philippe Duponteil, a French national, becomes Director "Resources" in the Joint Research Centre (JRC). Ureel previously headed up the team that negotiated the EU's 2014-2020 multiannual financial framework (MFF). Duponteil is currently the head of the "Far East: China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao, Mongolia" unit of DG Trade. (LC)
