19/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – The draft 'Olbrycht/Thomas' report on the proposals for the multiannual financial framework (MFF) of the EU 2021-2027 may be presented to the committee on budgets of the European Parliament on 8 or 9 October, several sources explained on Wednesday 19 September. It will take account of the opinions of the various competent committees of the EP on the various programmes (cohesion, agriculture, migration, research, etc.) and “will respect” the report of March 2018 on the post-2020 MFF (see EUROPE 11981); an upper limit on EU spending set at 1.3% of gross national income (GNI) to pay for the new priorities, without reducing the budget for the common agriculture policy (CAP) or cohesion. The draft report on the forthcoming MFF could be voted on in plenary on 30 November. (LC)
