19/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – As the current crisis in the European beet sector is considered “unprecedented”, the CIBE (international confederation of European beet growers) called, on Wednesday 19 September, for a series of emergency measures to be adopted. It calls for greater transparency in contracts and pricing and for a ban on unfair trading practices. It requests effective risk management tools requested (income stabilisation tool), and financial support to respond to the ban on plant production products, as well as equitable competition conditions with third countries (calling for a stop to granting market access conditions and for pressure to be put on countries dumping subsidised sugar on the world market).
