17/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 17 September, the European Central Bank (ECB) unveiled the new €100 and €200 notes, to enter into circulation on 28 May 2019. They will have new innovative security features, namely: a satellite hologram and an enhanced emerald number. As well as the security features visible to the naked eye, the euro notes will also include machine-readable signs and, for these denominations, new security features have been added to allow rapid treatment and authentication. They will also fit better in people's wallets and be less subject to wear and tear than the first series. With these two new denominations, the series known as Europe will finally be complete.
