European Parliament approves new measures to fight money laundering through criminal law

12/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – Meeting in Strasbourg on Wednesday 12 September, the members of the European Parliament approved, by 634 votes to 46 and 24 abstentions, the inter-institutional agreement reached in June of this year (see EUROPE 12031) on the directive concerning the fight against money laundering through criminal law. Readers may recall that the text provides for a maximum prison sentence of at least four years and a number of alternative sentences for the infringements set...
