03/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 3 September, members of the European Parliament’s regional development committee (REGI) adopted by an overwhelming majority (19 votes in favour, 3 against and 1 abstention) the agreement reached on increasing the financial envelope of the Structural Reform Support Programme from €142.2 million to €222.8 million in current prices for the years 2019 and 2020 (see EUROPE 12048). The agreement is due to be put to the vote of the plenary session on 13 September. The rapporteur, Ruza Tomasic (ECR, Croatia), underlined that they should proceed as quickly as possible so that member states may request the programme from October on. (PH)
