27/08/2018 (Agence Europe) – Stimulating the programme’s visibility, encouraging experimentation, strengthening the international dimension: these are some of the recommendations of the European Parliament’s thematic department of structural and cohesion policies. The report, published before the summer break upon the request of the European Parliament’s culture and education committee, suggests among other things setting up an advisory committee composed of illustrious figureheads and establishing a clear international component in the framework of Creative Europe (along the lines of MEDIA Mundus). To this end, it stresses that the programme’s budget is too limited in relation to the importance and contribution of sectors of the culture and creation in the EU's economy and society. For this, it was based on the period 2014-2020, aware that the upcoming multiannual financial framework foresees some €400 million extra (€1.85 billion rather than the previous €1.4 billion) (see EUROPE 12030).
