Procedure
The LUX Prize aims to support the European cinematographic sector and help promote the distribution of the most important European co-productions beyond respective national markets. The first stage involves the 10 films shortlisted (out of the 50 films examined). The jury will then select three film finalists at the end of July, which will be distributed and promoted during the LUX day cinema events in the 28 member states. The LUX 2018 prize-winning film will be adapted for the visually impaired and hard of hearing, promoted by the European Parliament and announced on 14 November in Strasbourg.
