25/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Saturday 23 June, tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of London to protest against Brexit and call for a fresh vote, with Theresa May's government struggling to overcome its internal divisions as to the type of Brexit to be opted for. On the second anniversary of the referendum on withdrawal from the EU, on 23 June 2016, hundreds of thousands of people are reported to have demonstrated across the country, according to the organisers, calling more specifically for a second referendum on the conditions for withdrawal from the EU, once a deal has been concluded with Brussels. The British Parliament will have a right of scrutiny over this final agreement, but no right of veto. (SP)
