25/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 25 June, the Council of the EU extended the mandate of six EU Special Representatives (EUSRs). Nataliya Apostolova, Peter Burian and Toivo Klaar thus see their respective EUSR mandates for Kosovo, Central Asia and South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia extended for 20 months, until 29 February 2020. The same goes for the EUSRs for the Horn of Africa, Alexander Rondos, and for the Sahel, Ángel Losada Fernández. In addition, Lars-Gunnar Wigemark has his EUSR mandate for Bosnia-Herzegovina extended for 14 months, until 31 August 2019. In its press release, the Council stated that the EUSRs "promote the EU's policies and interests in certain regions and countries, as well as issues of particular concern or interest for the EU". (CG)
