21/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 21 June, the European External Action Service announced that High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and Qatar's Foreign Affairs Minister Sheik Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani had agreed to set up an informal dialogue on human rights. Such a dialogue is provided for by the cooperation agreement signed on 7 March 2018. According to the EEAS, this dialogue will complement the regular exchanges between EU institutions and the Qatari National Human Rights Commission. Mogherini and Al-Thani also discussed the crisis which sets Doha against Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, for which Mogherini reiterated the EU's position (see EUROPE 11976).
