18/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 18 June, the EU Council extended the restrictive measures in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia until 23 June 2019. The sanctions apply to EU persons and EU-based companies, and are limited to the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol. They include prohibitions on imports into the EU of products originating in Crimea or Sevastopol, and investment in these territories. European cruise ships cannot call at ports on the Crimean peninsula, except in case of emergency. Exports of certain goods and technologies in the transport, telecommunications and energy sectors are banned, as is the supply of technical assistance, brokering, construction or engineering services related to infrastructure in these sectors.
