On Monday evening 11 June, MEPs on the civil liberties committee sent out a strong message by approving, by a small majority, (29 votes for, 25 against with 3 abstentions), the draft resolution drawn up by Claude Moraes (S&D, United Kingdom), which concludes that the level of protection provided for European citizens through the US data protection mechanism, the Privacy Shield, is not adequate.
