MEPs call for Privacy Shield to be suspended unless US is fully compliant by 1 September 2018

On Monday evening 11 June, MEPs on the civil liberties committee sent out a strong message by approving, by a small majority, (29 votes for, 25 against with 3 abstentions), the draft resolution drawn up by Claude Moraes (S&D, United Kingdom), which concludes that the level of protection provided for European citizens through the US data protection mechanism, the Privacy Shield, is not adequate.

It should be recalled that the vote was initially planned for 24 May but had to be postponed due...
