12/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – In Strasbourg on Tuesday 12 June, the European Parliament highlighted the importance of collecting sufficient data on recreational fishing. Without making changes to it, Parliament adopted (601 votes to 44, with 27 abstentions) the report by Norica Nicolai (ALDE, Romania) on recreational fishing (see EUROPE 12038), which points out that recreational fishing has a “significant impact on society, the economy, the environment and employment”.
