Six member states flagged over radioactive waste management directive

07/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission sent letters of formal notice to Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Latvia and Malta on Thursday 7 June, calling on them to transpose correctly certain requirements of Directive 2011/70/Euratom on spent fuel and radioactive waste. This directive establishes a Community framework for ensuring the responsible and safe management of spent fuel and radioactive waste to avoid imposing undue burdens on future generations.
