At opening of EDD 2018, UN/EU/Africa appeal for women to be given a place in society they deserve

Sustainable development is impossible if half of all humanity is left behind. On Tuesday 5 June in Brussels, it was to this half of humanity to which the participants at the opening ceremony of the European Development Day event (EDD 2018) focused their speeches, as well as the women and young girls throughout the world who are still suffering violence and discrimination.
