05/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 4 June, Margrethe Vestager, the European Commissioner for Competition, and Alejandra Palacios, the Chairwoman of the Mexican competition authority, signed an agreement for cooperation between the two competition authorities. This agreement will allow the two sides to exchange information on competition law and policy, coordinate application measures when working on the same subject matter, such as merger evaluations, consult each other in the framework of investigations carried out on either territory and carry out technical cooperation. "We can all benefit from working with other competition authorities to promote fair global competition. This new framework for dialogue will give further impetus to our excellent cooperation with Mexico's competition authority", Vestager said. (LT)
