Advocate General holds that Catholic chief medical officer at a Catholic hospital cannot be dismissed on grounds of his divorce and remarriage

The conclusions delivered by Advocate General at the European Court of Justice on Thursday 31 May in Case C-68/17, indicate that the principle of equal treatment precludes the respect of the indissoluble conception of the marriage of the Catholic Church as constituting a real professional requirement for a Catholic Chief Medical Officer employed by a Catholic hospital.
