28/05/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 25 May, on the occasion of the first high-level EU-UN dialogue on counter-terrorism, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and United Nations Under Secretary-General for Counter-Terrorism Vladimir Voronkov discussed EU-UN cooperation in areas of common concern such as addressing the challenges of returning/relocating foreign terrorist fighters, and counter-terrorism capacity building efforts in Central Asia, South and South-East Asia, the Sahel region and Lake Chad Basin. “Both sides agreed on the need to adopt an ‘all of society’ approach to preventing violent extremism and to include civil society organisations, the private sector, think tanks, as well as with governments at national and local levels”, the EEAS adds in a press release.
