02/05/2018 (Agence Europe) – During a meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to the EU (COREPER) on Wednesday 2 May, the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU said that it still wanted to reach an agreement with the European Parliament on reforming the electronic communications code before the end of this semester. Given the lack of progress achieved on 25 April (see EUROPE 12010), the co-legislators are planning to add a new inter-institutional meeting to the one on 5 June. In the part on “access” they still need to close the questions on co-investment (article 74), the universal service (article 79), international intra-EU calls and the transversal question of end users' rights, which are still all pending.
