Potential new own resources would bring in €22 billion over period 2021-2027

On Wednesday 2 May, the European Commission proposed giving the EU new own resources that would bring in €22 billion over the period 2021-2027, or 12% of total EU revenue (see EUROPE 12010).

This would cover 50% of the shortfall resulting from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the EU.

The Commission is proposing to set in place a basket of new own resources including: - a share of the common consolidated corporate tax base (CCCTB) which has been relaunched and is to be phased in...
