Viktor Orbán could come to Brussels on 2 May to speak about red lines his EPP political party would like to set

30/04/2018 (Agence Europe)According to the website of the newspaper Politico, Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has apparently been invited to come to Brussels on Wednesday 2 May by the leader of the European People's Party (EPP) Joseph Daul, and the leader of the European Parliament's EPP Group, German national Manfred Weber, to discuss the famous 'red lines' the two EPP chiefs want to set the Fidesz leader following the Hungarian parliamentary elections on 8 April.  During a seminar in Lyon, France, on 12 April (see EUROPE 12000), the two leaders announced they would develop red lines with Orbán which should not be crossed – at a time when the Orbán government has created controversy with its anti-immigration and anti-George Soros diatribe.  When asked, the Hungarian Representation to the EU could not confirm or comment on this news.  (SP)
