30/04/2018 (Agence Europe) – 80 citizens from 27 European Union member states will have the task of creating a questionnaire on the future of Europe. Meeting at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) on 5-6 May, they will have to reach an agreement on the 12 questions to be asked of all European citizens. This questionnaire will be available in the 24 official languages of the EU and will provide the basis of the online public consultation the Commission will be launching on 9 May (Europe Day). This consultation will be the subject of a final report to be presented to the European Summit in Sibiu, Romania, on 9 May 2019. This participative process will be in addition to the citizens' consultations organised by the 26 member states on the initiative of France (see EUROPE 11983). The two consultations will take place in the perspective of the forthcoming European elections between Thursday 23 and Sunday 26 May 2019. (MS)
