On Monday 5 March, as they presented the findings of recent investigations to the press, Transparency International EU, OCCRP and Global Witness called on the European institutions to demand greater transparency in “golden visa” procedures.
“Golden visas” are current programmes in the European Union allowing a third country national to rapidly obtain a residency permit and then the nationality of a member state in exchange for substantial personal investment in the host country.
