05/02/2018 (Agence Europe) – At the end of a meeting with Tunisia's Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui on Monday 5 February (see other article), High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said that 2018 could not be a year like others in relations between the European Union and Tunisia. Believing the democratic transition was "a priority interest for the EU", she underlined the EU's interest in investing in the future of Tunisians by means of a real partnership for youth (Erasmus + and vocational training) and progress in the negotiations on migration issues. We are ready to consider "immediate" support on innovation and support for start-ups, she also said. The next EU-Tunisia Association Council will take place in May and will set out the priorities of the partnership for the 2018-2020 period. (MB)
