Ministers wish to abolish exequatur procedure, but have yet to agree on details

In Sofia on Friday 26 January, the vast majority of the European justice ministers reiterated their intention of abolishing the so-called exequatur procedure for all parental responsibility decisions, as they previously did at a formal meeting in December (see EUROPE 11923).

However, the ministers made no headway on the details for this abolition or the model to be selected. Discussions were “confused”, according to one source.
