04/01/2018 (Agence Europe)Member state ambassadors to the European Union (the committee of permanent representatives – Coreper) gave approval on Friday 22 December to the inter-institutional (“trialogue”) agreement reached, after marathon negotiations, by the representatives of the European Parliament and the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Council on Thursday 30 November on revision of the regulation on the statutes of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) (see EUROPE 11916). Under the terms of this text, commercial and recreational-use drones with a kinetic energy of more than 80 joules will have to be registered on an EU database.
