17/11/2017 (Agence Europe) – European Commission spokesperson for competition Ricardo Cardoso said at a press conference on Friday 17 November that the Commission will unveil its decision about the planned merger between airlines Lufthansa and Air Berlin on 7 December. The deal would involve Lufthansa acquiring a majority stake in Air Berlin and follows an insolvency procedure launched in the summer. It was notified to the European Commission on 31 August, which is examining whether the merger would create an uneven playing field in the Single Market. (LT)
