17/11/2017 (Agence Europe) – Meeting in Yaounde (Cameroon) on Friday 17 November, the Global Forum on tax transparency adopted its first report on the application of the international standard for the exchange of fiscal information developed by the OECD. According to this report, 50 jurisdictions are already applying this standard and 50 more will be doing so from next year. The jurisdictions that have pledged to do so but have been delayed include Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Dominica, Trinidad and Tobago, which have only recently started the process to join the multilateral Convention on administrative assistance in taxation matters. Of the countries that have opted for the bilateral approach to sign administrative assistance agreements, Panama has signed only five agreements, none of which have as yet been activated.
