27/10/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday, 25 October, the European Commission opened a public consultation on the use of electronic documents in the freight sector. The Commission is seeking to present an initiative as a means of supporting the use of these kinds of documents. Stakeholders, the public authorities, organisations and citizens are therefore requested to explain why the use of electronic format documents is not widespread. They are also requested to suggest measures for countering this phenomenon and to indicate what the impact of these measures would be. The consultation is open until 18 January.
