29/09/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 29 September, the European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF) published the findings of a study which it commissioned into workplace violence against women in the sector. Of the more than 1,400 women respondents, 63% had experienced at least one recent act of violence and 26% believe that harassment is considered to be “part of the job” in transport. ETF Women’s Committee chairperson Brigitta Paas hopes that “the findings (of the study) will be taken into account by the European Commission in the frame of their ‘Women in Transport’ initiative aimed at attracting more women to the transport sector”.
