Preparations for the 11th WTO ministerial conference, to be held in Buenos Aires from 11 to 14 December, intensified at the end of July, particularly over the agricultural plank, where decisions are still outstanding on limiting agricultural subsidies. The United States is not hiding its deep scepticism, whilst 47 developed and developing countries launched a common appeal, on Wednesday 26 July, to protect a global system of trade based on WTO rules.
