As announced (see EUROPE 11829), the European Commission on Friday 28 July adopted a draft amending budget for 2017 (no. 5), concerning the European Fund for Sustainable Development (EFSD).
Given the lack of margin in the 2017 budget under the ceiling (in commitments) of heading 4, 'Europe in the world', and taking account of redeployments already carried out, the Commission is proposing to mobilise the flexibility instrument to cover the envelope of €275 million requested for the financing of the EFSD in 2017 (see EUROPE 11834).
Emergency aid reserve. The draft amending budget furthermore reflects the mid-term revision of the multi-annual financial framework (MFF) of the EU for 2014-2020: increase from €280 to €300 million in the annual level of the emergency aid reserve. (Original version in French by Lionel Changeur)
