Progress in discussions to update comprehensive agreement with EU confirms objective of political agreement in 2017

On Tuesday 18 July, a source close to the issue at the European Commission told EUROPE that the fourth round of negotiations to update the comprehensive EU-Mexico agreement (which took place in Mexico on 26-30 June) enabled "good progress" in all areas of the trade section of the discussions, with both parties maintaining the objective of concluding an agreement in principle by the end of 2017.
