26/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Saturday 24 June, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service spoke out against the terrorist attacks that hit Pakistan the previous day. An explosion in front of the police headquarters in Quetta and two consecutive explosions in a market at Parachinar claimed at least 57 lives and left more than 200 people injured. The double attack in Parachinar has been claimed by Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Al-Alami, a Sunni armed group, while the attack on the police headquarters has been claimed by both Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Al-Alami and so-called Islamic State. "Our hearts are with the people of Pakistan as we mourn with them this devastating loss", the spokesperson said in a press release, reiterating that the EU "strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms". The EU will continue to work with Pakistan in the fight against this global threat, the spokesperson stated. (CG)
